Soon after, George began to work seriously on his craft, landing local commercial and voice over spots. He has studied with Lisina Stoneburner at Atlanta's prestigious Company Acting Studio and is very comfortable in front of the camera -- creating new characters each time he's called to action. Maria Howell as Ms. Bean
Maria signature film performance as the choir soloist in the movie "The Color Purple" was quoted by one critic as being "one of the film's most stirring moments!" Her rendition of "God Is Trying to Tell You Something" was memorable for all who saw it, but the offerings of the all-grown-up Maria are truly unforgettable, eliciting more stirring moments, one after another. As a singer, Maria wowed audiences as the opening act for the legendary Ray Charles, and shared the stage with Earth Wind & Fire's point man, Phillip Bailey.
